Plastic Peukmeuk 2022
Together with more than 50 cities and 11 countries, we are collecting as many cigarette butts as possible! We gather at 10 AM at the Beestenmarkt in Leiden and you can hand in the cigarette butts at our bridgehouse in Leiden, on the Marebrug.
As much as two thirds of all cigarette butts are thrown on the ground while cigarette butts also contain plastic and many other toxic substances. Time for action!
Sign up now for The Plastic Peukmeuk in Leiden. We will gather at 10:00 am where we will give a short introduction to the project and the cigarette butt clean-up. We bring buckets to collect the cigarette butts in. Afterwards we will spread out in small groups and you can clean up as long as you want in specific parts in the city center. When you are finished you can hand in the cigarette butts at the bridgehouse on the Marebrug in Leiden. We will provide something to drink and thanks to Better Bagels in Leiden we will have something to eat! You can sign up via: (This event has expired.)
